Sciarrino’s “Infinito nero” Performed by Ensemble / Parallax at National Sawdust

A few years ago, I had the privilege of performing Salvatore Sciarrino’s highly demanding and enthralling piece, Infinito nero” with the amazing mezzo soprano Kathleen Roland Silverstein and the video artist #wolfganglehmann at National Sawdust with Ensemble / Parallax. It was, to say the least, one of the most exciting collaborations I’ve ever been involved with; Kathleen is one of the most brilliant singers around, and to boot, incredibly flexible and easy to work with (not an easy combination to find with a lot of soloists). Wolgang Lehmann’s multimedia visuals were also absolutely beautiful. It was the culmination of a lot of hard work which yielded a fantastic tour and collaboration.
